The Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan has launched a new international project featuring the legendary Hollywood actor and Oscar winner Sir Ben Kingsley, known as the «icon of British cinema."

At the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the country is implementing large-scale cultural and humanitarian projects aimed at widely promoting the spiritual and historical heritage, as well as the contributions of great Eastern scholars to the development of world civilization. The Center for Islamic Civilization's new project marks another significant step in this direction.

The project includes the creation of a series of more than ten short documentaries dedicated to history, culture, and outstanding scholars who have made invaluable contributions to the development of world science and civilization. These films are intended for an international audience and will be presented on leading global media platforms.

The first stage of this initiative was a video featuring Sir Ben Kingsley. It will serve as a prologue to a larger series of films exploring the great thinkers and scholars of the East, whose ideas and discoveries have had a profound impact on the development of global culture, philosophy, and science.

Other global film and art stars are planned to participate in the project in the future.

The Center for Islamic Civilization, located in Uzbekistan’s capital near the Khast-Imam complex, is designed in the style of medieval architectural monuments, with four portals each 34 meters high and a central dome rising to 65 meters. It includes a Hall of the Quran, a 460-seat conference hall, and a museum whose exhibitions cover the entire history of Uzbekistan — from pre-Islamic times to the present day. The Center aims to serve as a platform for studying the heritage of the ancestors and reinterpreting it in collaboration with the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan and educational institutions around the world.
