Finnish President Alexander Stubb visited the Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan during his official trip to Tashkent, the Center’s press service reported.

A guided tour was organized for President Stubb, during which he explored the museum and learned about the purpose of the complex. The guest was reportedly impressed by what he saw.

“Every exhibition, every hall, every detail is carefully thought out. Conveying three millennia of history to today’s generation in such a modern format requires great art and skill. The Center not only revives the heritage of past centuries but also inspires future generations. The interactive displays and innovative technologies especially engage young people. Here, they don’t just read history — they feel it,” the Finnish president said.

Stubb emphasized that the Center’s atmosphere keeps visitors engaged and shapes foreigners’ impressions of Uzbekistan’s history and future.

President Stubb arrived in Tashkent on an official visit at the invitation of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on October 30, following a visit to Kazakhstan. Notably, the Finnish leader flew to the Uzbek capital on a regular Uzbekistan Airways flight.

ℹ️ The Center for Islamic Civilization (CIC) in Tashkent is located near the Hast-Imam complex. The building is designed in the style of medieval architectural monuments, with four 34-meter-high portals and a 65-meter central dome. It includes a Quran hall, a conference hall with 460 seats, and a museum whose exhibitions cover the entire history of Uzbekistan — from pre-Islamic times to the present. The CIC is intended as a platform for studying ancestral heritage and its contemporary interpretation, in collaboration with the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan and research and educational centers worldwide.
